Capitalising on the popularity of posts and Stories, Instagram is bring a new form of cross-posting to how you publish Stories…in posts.
Post while you Story
Users will find they can embed previous posts from their Instagram feed directly into Stories as a part of the latest update.
What’s interesting? The idea wasn’t lifted from Snapchat (gasp) and it provides more in-app integration that users have been asking for.
To take advantage of the new feature, users can tap the paper airplane icon in DM to open an option to “share as a sticker.” All feed posts shared will also contain a link to the original poster.
Some security
Instagram has also built in a small measure of privacy into the new feature to prevent personal content being posted to other users’ Stories.
These posts can only be accessed through public accounts, and users can turn on and off the ability for others to share posted material.
Android users can start enjoying the latest feature right now while iOS users will have to wait awhile. Patience makes the heart grow fonder right?
What do you think about the new cross-posting initiative? Do you see the inherent value? Why or why not? Let us know in the comment section.
