In an effort to fire up flagging enthusiasm among users, Facebook is giving us the gift of music.
Out of tune?
Three new musical features will soon be available to jazz up your Facey profile: Music on Facebook Stories, Lip Sync Live expanded, and the ability to add songs to your profile.
As the name implies. Music on Facebook Stories lets you add a song to any photos or videos you share in Stories.
Just select the new music sticker from your phone and chose your track. The sticker will display artist and song info, while adding other stickers gives you more effects.
Swan song
While Lip Sync Live has been around for awhile, Facebook has expanded the service to more markets. Lip Sync has also added been to Pages, opening it up to more artists and content creators. You can now add lyrics as well.
Finally, Facebook will soon be adding a Music section to your profile, where you can add what you're listening to now, or your favourite tracks. Friends will be able to listen to your melodies, as well as view any accompanying music video.
While all this sounds promising, the prospect of Facebook becoming noisier may not appeal to all – especially with such established players as Spotify and Youtube Music in the mix. We'll just have to listen and see.
