Facebook may have conquered all of the land, now it's turning its gaze (and appetite) to the cloud.
Airy Facey
Facebook is releasing a series of updates making it easier to upload and save your photos and videos to the Facebook cloud.
You’ll also be able to shove Stories and voice messages into Facebook’s virtual attic.
The service is currently being trialled in India, with a global rollout expected shortly.
Look Up
The update is largely focused around the in-app Facebook Camera. When taking a photo or shooting a video, you’ll soon be able to save directly to your Facebook account.
Handy for saving phone storage, especially with high res photos and 4K videos becoming de rigueur. No word yet on whether Facebook will limit cloud storage capacity.
The trade off for users: Facebook gets a lot more of your data to tweak targeted advertising.
