Facebook has just launched Music Stories, a new service that lets mobile users discover and share music.
Tuning in
Music Stories is now available on the Facebook iOS app and streams content from Spotify and Apple Music.
The feature lets users listen to a 30-second preview of a shared song or album that's played directly from Facebook. Once selected, the track will appear in their News Feed and allow other users to interact with the content.
Users have the option to either purchase the track, or save it on Spotify or Apple Music.
Shake, rattle and roll
At the moment Music Stories is only available on Facebook's iOS app, but an Android system is in the works. Facebook says it will also add more music streaming partners as the service grows.
Music is one of the few remaining areas where Facebook isn't heavily invested or dominant – yet.
But with Facebook's 1.39 billion monthly mobile users now accounting for 78% of its ad revenue, you can be Facebook will be tuning up its musical ear soon.
