Once the darling of the smartphone set, BlackBerry is facing stormy weather in an ocean full of iPhone and Android users.
However BlackBerry isn't done yet by a long shot – as a recent move by Facebook attests.
Web slinger
Facebook had previously announced it would no longer support its native app on BlackBerry's operating system, BlackBerry 10.
However BlackBerry owners have now been given a reprieve, of sorts.
Glass half full
Facebook now offers a web-based version of the platform in lieu of a native BlackBerry app, which was removed on March 31.
While the online version isn't as streamlined as the app, it provides all the functionality, and a lifeline for BlackBerry-based Facebook fans.
Those that want to switch to the dark side can download the Android Facebook app on the latest BlackBerry Priv handset.
