You can't accuse Facebook of not being diligent when it comes to sniffing out Snapchat's most popular features.
Now Facebook is launching "Messenger Day", a feature uncannily similar to Snapchat Stories.
Leapfrog
Messenger Day lets users share images and video that can be jazzed up with filters. And they also disappear within 24 hours. Sound familiar?
The feature has just launched in Poland, presumably as a testing ground ahead of a wider roll out in regions where Snapchat has not yet taken hold.
Turtle vs hare
Facebook's approach may not be the most original, but could prove brutally effective.
By getting users hooked on ephemeral content through Facebook instead of Snapchat, Facebook may stymie Snapchat's staggering growth spurt. Stay tuned.
