A new app called Flyr. aims to shake up the Stories production process, making it easier and quicker to get rich content onto social media.
It promises to shortcut the creation of things like Instagram Stories and Snapchat Discover-style content.
Free and far ranging
Flyr. is a free app that gives anyone the ability to produce interactive videos for social media. Using a library of videos, gifs and photos, users can create content for their favourite social media platforms with minimal time and even less technical knowledge.
Composer screens are intuitive, swiping through content libraries to compile and connect media with simple tapping and typing to add text. In-video hyperlinks give the all-important ability to drive web traffic in the right direction.
Even as a free app, it offers over a million layouts, filters, colours and styles. With these combinations, users should be able to achieve a custom look to each bit of Flyr. output.
Fast exports
Once a Flyr. product is ready to rock, it can be exported in the appropriate format to match directly with a broad selection of platforms, including Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
So long as the user knows the desired distribution channel, the app handles filetype, dimensions, aspect ratios and resolution selection.
For the future
Flyr. targets a market that is ripe, but it remains to be seen whether this app is the one that picks it right. As a tool, it could be useful for consumers and marketers alike, if it proves to be a well-maintained stayer.
At the moment, even the name of the app seems like it could pose problems: a travel tech start-up of the same name has garnered significant press (and investment) in recent months.
Flyr. is currently only available on iOS.
