Feature after feature, Instagram continues to add to its photo-friendly arsenal.
Now four more are reportedly in the works: a new portrait mode, cinemagraphs, convo organising, and data download.
The wonderous new perks
AI enhanced photos, minimalistic video, keeping track of past conversations, and better monitoring your own data are all part and parcel in the latest from Instagram.
Camera on your phone a bit dated? The new Portrait mode will utilise artificial intelligence software to enhance photos beyond your hardware’s capabilities, all at the touch of a button.
What is a “cinemagraph?” There’s a bit more speculation on this feature, but the ability to take a sample video with only a small portion in motion would be the artistic intent, though not much has been leaked.
Clean and tidy
Instagram is adding the ability to ‘star’ a chat, allowing a conversation to be more easily located later. The star can be found in the right hand corner of any conversation.
To increase transparency and give users a bit of control, Instagram is reportedly testing the ability to allow data to be downloaded for personal monitoring. This is in response to increasing requests from users.
Though most of these have been rolled out as test features, there’s a great deal of promise in the innovations. Which ones will pass onto full scale launch remains to be seen.
