Google has had a busy month. Earlier in May at the Google I/O Developer Conference the search giant announced scores of updates across virtually every one of its products.
It seems Google was just warming up: this week sees the announcement of two new features aimed at giving brands another reason to keep Googling.
Chrome gets in-app purchases
Chrome isn't just the most popular browser on the planet, it's becoming its own platform with apps, embeds and new features continually being added and tweaked.
Google is currently working on an update for Chrome desktop that will include in-app payments via Google Wallet.
While the launch date has yet to be confirmed, it makes sense that Google wants to keep Chrome's 750 million uses within their ecosystem and away from the temptations of Amazon and Facebook.
Google+ App gets image upgrade, hashtags and Google Offers
The Google+ app for iOS has received an update that allows images to be tweaked, similar to the way filters are used on Instagram. The app also now features hashtags to make it easier to search via trending topics.
But the interesting news for brands is that interactive Google Offers will now appear in stream and can be instantly redeemed. The Offers will be based on user interests and will potentially provide another way for merchants to reach G+'s growing mobile user base.
