Google is the rich and famous a new way to reach out to fans, thanks to their latest iOS pop-culture app.
A sea of stars
The new celebrity-inspired platform is providing incentive for public figures by allowing them to take control of their own narrative and speak directly to fans. It's called Cameo.
Celebrities using Cameo can share their video answers through the knowledge panel found on Google's search results page.
The access to their own Google search page could be another way for celebs to combat false information.
How it works
A list of most popular queries will be included amongst the questions, along with trending topics.
So far supermodel Karlie Kloss and Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant have used Cameo to connect.
But not just anyone can join. At the moment, Cameos is invitation only but anyone that downloads the app will generate a permission request, just don’t expect an answer back.
Stay tuned to see if brands get a similar service down the line.
