Amongst LinkedIn’s handy daily tips, the platform is sharing its best practices when it comes to connecting with Active Status users.
Strike when the iron is…green!
“Knowing the right time to reach out is key,” according to LinkedIn Communications Specialist Julie Inouye, “so make sure your connections are available and active on LinkedIn when sending a note.”
Look to the status dot to ensure a fellow LinkedIn member is online, or if you’d prefer a little rhyme, if the light is green, the member is on scene.
Why the reminder?
According to LinkedIn, over one-third of users found employers through conversations sparked over LinkedIn message.
What may seem like handholding into familiar territory is only half-true. LinkedIn is simply affirming they’ve gone live and are a full-fledged social media app, a transition so smooth you can barely see the seams.
So go on, say g'day. It could lead to something wonderful.
