LinkedIn has released an infographic showing how to build an awesome profile on the social network for professionals.

Here's what you need to know.

Basic housekeeping

First off, start with a profile picture. LinkedIn profiles with a picture result in 9X more connection requests.

Make sure you add your current position, top five skills, and industry too, which can result in 8X more profile views.

Don't forget to add your education. LinkedIn says profiles featuring an education background attract 17X more messages from recruiters.

Location, location

But you're not done yet! Adding a location means you're 23X more likely to be found in LinkedIn searches. 

Finally, adding a summary is a great way to wrap up how awesome you are.

Summaries are also the most common section recruiters look at when viewing profiles.

LinkedIn recommends including your experience, skills, motivation, and interests in your summary.
