Twitter has just announced an update aimed at helping Twitter users and brands keep on top of conversations.
You talking to me?
Twitter announced the changes in a blog post, explaining users will now receive notifications on the web when there is an interaction with their tweets.
“When you’re logged in on twitter.com, you will receive notifications if someone has replied, favorited or retweeted one of your Tweets.
“You can also receive notifications for direct messages and new followers,” wrote Twitter's Michael Ducker.
Look who's talking
The notifications are also fully interactive so users can reply, favourite, retweet or follow directly from the notification.
To make sure you're not bombarded with irrelevant notifications, Twitter explained that users can choose the type of notifications they want to receive under Settings on Twitter.com or the mobile app.
Here users can also choose whether they want notifications to be sent via email or mobile.
Smart step
In some ways Twitter has been a victim of its own success, and with the increasing avalanche of tweets it can be hard to keep up with every interaction.
By streamlining this process Twitter's making it easier for brands to connect and converse with customers, while upping its all-important engagement figures.
