In early October Instagram confirmed that it would soon be rolling out ads. Instagram has now given users a sneak peek at what these ads will look like.

In a recent blog post Instagram revealed how the ads, or sponsored posts, will appear.
Essentially, the ads will look identical to regular Instagram posts except the term “Sponsored” will appear in the top right hand corner, where the time stamp normally appears.
Like or lose it
Instagram explained that it wants the ads to be relevant, so users can hide ads that aren't of interest.
“We want ads to be creative and engaging, so we’re starting with just a handful of brands that are already great members of the Instagram community.
“If you see an ad that doesn’t interest you, you can tap the “…” below it to hide it and provide feedback about what you didn’t like. This will help us show you more interesting ads in the future,” the company wrote.
Prepare for the avalanche
Instagram ads will be either photos or videos, with sample ads being drip fed to US users over the coming weeks.
Presumably once Instagram tweaks their formula a global rollout will follow.
