In the past year, Instagram has added more new users than Snapchat has total users.
The great race
The gap in user growth continues to widen as Facebook IPs continue to leave Snapchat and Twitter in the dust as the latest stats hint at Facebook’s dominance.
Snapchat’s dilemma remains the same, incredibly popular among the teenage demographic, which is no easy feat, but lacking in popularity with the older masses.
With Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp adding 300 million, 228 million, and 200 million active monthly users respectively, Snapchat’s 15 million seems just a little less impressive.
Facebook turns a page?
The data which was collected from Statista demonstrates that Snapchat’s latest surge in growth looks more like a flash in the pan compared to Facebook’s daunting numbers.
As Facebook gains more of a lead, even Twitter is seeing similar obstacles in hitting 302 million users in 2015.
Unfortunately, Twitter has also only been able to add about 33 million new users in three years. If Snapchat and Twitter represent the little guys, Facebook may be getting too big to beat.
Do you think this spells bad news for non-Facebook IPs? Is it too early to throw in the towel? We want to know what you think in our comment section below.
