Instagram has breezily passed another major milestone: 800 million monthly users, at an average of 500 million daily active users.

New growth for Instagram

The uber-popular platform has added 100 million new monthly active users in just five months.

At this rate, Instagram is on track to join the billion club in early 2018. And advertisers have noticed.

More users mean more marketers

Instagram announced that it has accrued 2 million advertisers, up a staggering 1 million since March, which has largely been due to small and medium businesses joining their marketing platform.

Time spent by users is also up 80% with users producing over four times as much content per day since 2016.

The new numbers could be troubling to Snapchat as Instagram’s growth continues to skyrocket. Having also cloned many of its rival’s key features, an 800 million strong user base makes Instagram formidable.
