LinkedIn has announced two new updates intended to make the homepage more personalised.
The personal touch
The new features, called “Who's Viewed Your Updates” and “You Recently Visited”, were announced by LinkedIn's company product lead Caroline Gaffney in a blog post.
Gaffney wrote the updates are intended to provide users with more personalised insights into their activities and engagement across LinkedIn.
Who's Viewed Your Updates
“Who’s Viewed Your Updates” shows the content a user has shared in the past 14 days, who has seen it and whether it has been liked or shared.
The information is displayed in real-time and shows data from a user's first, second and third degree networks, increasing the opportunity to make new connections.
You Recently Visited
As the name suggests, the “You Recently Visited” feature pulls together a user's recent activity. Information includes recent profiles a user has viewed, searches conducted and group discussions a user has viewed or contributed to.
LinkedIn explains this feature will make it easier for users to retrace their steps, re-engage with conversations or follow-up with members they intended to connect with. In other words, it's a reminder service.
Updates ahoy
These features come on the back of recent updates to LinkedIn including a new streamlined navigation and the ability to add media rich content such as videos and photos to updates.
