Salesforce has released its second annual State of Sales report, giving a glimpse into the latest global facts and figures.
Here are the key takeaways.
Agility first
Salesforce surveyed 3100 global sales professionals for its report, which shows 55% of high-performing sales teams regularly reach out to their customers, compared to 30% for moderate performers and 14% of under performers.
Half of high-performing teams are available on multiple channels, and are 2.9X more likely than under performers to say they're available anytime for customers.
Collaboration
Teamwork is a constant feature for the top ranked respondents.
Almost three quarters of sales professionals say collaborating across departments is absolutely critical. While 76% of high performing teams rate their collaboration between customers and partners as 'outstanding' or 'very good'.
These teams are 2.7X more likely to say it's 'absolutely critical' to connect with customers using online communities.
Overall, Salesforce found that teams experienced the greatest success when they mixed personal interactions with technologies that scale.
