SMK’s app of the week: One

Do you want to let someone on Twitter know you care, but hashtags and retweets seem a bit passé?

Now you can spread the love by sending cold hard cash via new app One.

One is an iOS app that lets you send $1 to anyone you follow on Twitter.

If you're feeling generous, simply select your recipient's @username and send the funds via a quick swipe on your phone.

Transactions are free (for now), however you can only send $1 at a time. It's almost as easy as using a poker machine.

Recipients must sign up for One and hand over their bank account details to retrieve sent funds.

One is based on Stripe's eco-system and is compatible with Apple Pay, and the app doesn't store users' account info.
