Snapchat is launching its own Shoppable AR, to make selling through lenses even easier for advertisers to capitalise.
$elfies
Launching Sponsored Lenses back in 2015, Snapchat is now offering a way to tie a Lens to a button, which users can then tap to visit a website or make a purchase.
Other opportunities include adding links to install a new app or view a longer video promotion or trailer, without having to leave Snapchat.
Brands to jump on board so far include Clairol with their AR “beauty product trial,” Adidas, and STX promoting Amy Schumer’s latest comedy.
Simple Service
There's no price increase for advertisers to use the new Lens service, sweetening the deal even further.
Keeping users from leaving Snapchat while exploring their favourite brands is a win/win for the company and perspective clients.
Currently, 70 million users engage with Lenses on a daily basis and can even create their own through Lens Studio. It looks like the future is ripe for snappy advertisers.
