A little tweak to G Suite is a little nice-to-have feature for internal branding and corporate communications.
Google bar is good
In G Suite, the Google bar is the header section at the top of all G Suite pages. It’s the ubiquitous menu for profile settings, navigation and notifications.
The functionality of the Google bar isn’t in question. And, thankfully, Google does not yet seem to have plans to tinker with the not-broken.
Branded bar is better
In coming weeks, G Suite admins will gain the ability to feature their company brand into the Google bar, instead of the standard G Suite logo.
This is pretty cool, letting businesses take ownership of the look and feel of their productivity suites. It’s going to be easy to do, too. No hacking the code or dodgy plug-ins. Just a simple upload.
How to own it?
G Suite admins will find a new option to upload a ‘Custom logo’ in their Admin Console. Simply go to the ‘Company profile’ section, then select ‘Personalisation’. Upload and your good to go!
If no domain logo is uploaded, the default G Suite logo will keep on showing.
Does the ability to brand your internal productivity suite seem compelling? Do you expect other business solutions to follow suit?
