Snapchat has long been mum on sharing stats regarding creator content, but will soon offer view counts and demographics within the profile settings.
Measurements in creativity
The platform will finally give creators insight into weekly, monthly, year-to-date views, audience demographics, audience interests, and unique story views, all as a part of the new analytics.
Users and advertisers will benefit from the tallied views to understand reach, while the age demographics will provide businesses valuable information on responsive demographics.
Following years of neglecting the creative community, CEO Evan Spiegel has stated “In 2018, we are going to build more distribution and monetization opportunities for these creators.”
$nappy
Big named brands like Disney have been paying creators such as Mplatco to design Story animations and stickers since as far back as 2014, creating opportunities for creatives and advertisers alike.
The new analytics are already helping Snapchat “stars” like sing/illustrator/comedian Shonduras breakdown various successes, and helping bring in five-figure sponsorships. The stats could be invaluable.
