Snapchat recently released a new line of augmented reality filters, this time turning to altering the sky’s horizon instead of just facial gimmicks.
Look to the Sky Filters
The new feature, simply called Sky Filters, can automatically differentiate the sky within a given photo, and alter it to provide a different time of day or ethereal look.
These new filters are currently available on both Android and iOS, with a daily rotation of different effects, such as adding virtual weather, sunsets, night time skies, storm clouds, rainbows, and much more.
So long as the app can detect sky within a photo, the filters will be made available when swiping through the effects section along with the other editing tools.
Augmented photos ever popular
Snapchat continues to unveil new renditions of Artificial Reality features in-app, including a rollout of animated 3D "Bitmojis" designed to interact with the virtual environment.
Along with the company’s previous release of World Lenses earlier this year, allowing for the addition of virtual objects and effects, the capability of altering photos in real-time is as strong as ever.
Do you use the filters available through Snapchat? Are you excited for the ability of altering skylines? Give us your thoughts in the comments below.
