Facebook hasn't been shy about adopting Snapchat's most popular features and bolting them onto its existing empire of features and apps.
Now Snapchat is fighting back.
Story time
Snapchat Stories has been bumped to prime position above the Discover tab, meaning your friends are more likely to see that latest update.
To make Stories even more streamlined, the auto-advance feature has bit the dust. It's been replaced by Stories Playlist, which lets you select multiple Stories, and play them consecutively.
Play it again, Snapchat
As part of the update, ads that formally lived in auto-advance Stories will now be integrated into the Stories Playlist. If you only watch one Story, the ad will be post-roll.
The update comes as Instagram Stories has passed 100 million users.
However that hasn't seemed to slow Snapchat's momentum. The platform is reportedly planning an IPO early next year valued at US$25 billion.
