Besides being the greatest repository of kitten videos in the history of the world, YouTube is a great way to engage with customers and the wider public.
But with over 100 hours of video uploaded every minute on the platform, how do you make your mini-masterpiece stand out?
Here are three ways to help get your vids viewed.
Tag it
It's not enough to make a great video, you have to make sure people can find it. Make sure you tag your video with relevant keywords – the more specific the better.
Don't forget to fill out your video description to further give your video context and more views.
It's also a good idea to promote your video on your other social networks.
Call to action
So you've got someone to watch your video, now what?
Be sure to include a call to action at the end of your video, whether it's a link to your website, a preview of your other YouTube videos, or encouraging viewers to leave a comment or share the video.
Talk it up
YouTube comments have traditionally been fairly rough and ready, however the problem has largely been curtailed by the new rule requiring users to login via Google+ (using their real name) before making comments.
While you'll still get the odd troll, make sure to engage and respond to any comments on YouTube, just like you would on any social platform.
