Twitch has announced it's rolling out new extensiond that will enable streamers to add more flare to their channels, and sell gear through Amazon.
New flare and more revenue
The popular gamer streaming service is introducing Twitch Extensions, a new suite of tools to customise channels with polls, leaderboards, tickers, and colourful overlays, just to name a few.
Content creators will not only be able to project on-screen calendars, schedulers, and overlays, they can even allow for a virtual pet. Why? As video trends have long been heading this direction, why not?
More money to be made
Even though Amazon owns Twitch, this will be the first time streamers can directly make revenue through their affiliation. Streamers can now register as an Amazon Affiliate to monetize their channel.
Amazon Affiliate will be accompanied by 20 other extensions at launch, including an array of game-specific extensions, while others are meant for style and implementing various widgets and implemented by an Extension Manager.
A full list of extensions and features are available on the Twitch blog.
