Twitter has just released Connect, a new feature designed to help you follow relevant accounts.
New friends
Twitter announced the release in a blog post.
“Finding new accounts to follow used to require jumping through a few hoops and a dash of luck. That’s why we’ve reimagined the experience with our new Connect tab.
“Starting today, you’ll see a detailed list of people and accounts we think you’ll enjoy following, all easily accessible in one place.”
Follow the leader
The Connect tab works by analysing who you already follow, what you tweet about, popular users in your area, and events, to come up with its recommendations.
If you’re a foodie, for example, Connect might recommend Twitter accounts for chefs and restaurants in your vicinity.
Tab time
The tab sits at the top of your feed, where the Find People tab used to occupy.
You can also synch Connect to your address book, so when a contact joins Twitter, you’ll be notified.
Twitter is now available on iOS and Android. To find out more visit blog.twitter.com.
