Twitter’s ‘best-of’ curated space, Moments, just got a whole lot more musical.
Musical Moments
Since 2014, SoundCloud’s audio cards have made it possible for people to share and stream songs with a single click directly from their Twitter timeline.
Until now, however, SoundCloud audio cards have been absent from Moments.
For curators, the expansion of Twitter’s partnership with SoundCloud means that they now have the ability to share music as part of their overall Moments experience.
For SoundCloud, the move represents an opportunity to expose their 125 million-track library to a new audience.
The chosen ones
The Moments format is unique within Twitter, in that it allows for curators to share collections of noteworthy tweeted content.
The application of the Moments to music sharing is exciting – essentially allowing the ability to share carefully selected collections of songs that are playable right within twitter.
Sadly for us normal folk, however, the creation of Moments remains restricted to chosen partners.
Unless you’re one of the lucky chosen few – and if your name isn’t Vogue, Vice or Mashable you probably aren't – for now you’ll have to tweet your favourite songs the old fashioned way.
One song at a time.
