Launched last week, Tweaky.com is an Australian company giving businesses wanting to customise their website an affordable alternative.
Who is Tweaky?
Ned Dwyer from Native Digital started Tweaky with colleague PJ Murray after seeing a growing list of clients wanting small changes made to their websites, for example adding an email signup, without paying a premium.
“Speaking to brands through Native I found that many wanted small alterations or features that were not scoped in the original web build. They would go to their agency and be quoted thousands of dollars (or tens of thousands of dollars) for relatively minor changes to WordPress websites.
Using Tweaky we have worked with brands including Optus and Onitsuka Tiger to reduce their overheads in making small changes by thousands of dollars” explains Dwyer.
How does it work?
Users login to the Tweaky website and submit a description of the changes they want. A 'concierge' then breaks the project down into a series of tasks, called tweaks, which are valued at $25 each.
Generally speaking, one tweak is equal to half an hour's labour.
Once users approve the tweaks there are implemented live and all work comes with a full money-back guarantee.
Back ups and security
Tweaky creates a full back up of the website before making any changes, meaning the site can be rolled back at any time if needed.
“We take security very seriously and use 24-bit encryption for all login details, which can only be accessed by the developer authorised to work on your particular project.
It’s far more secure than the current methods development houses use to get credentials from clients, which generally involves email.”
Tweak 'n' go
Dwyer says that while Tweaky isn't set up to handle complete web builds, it will handle almost any odd job a client needs.
“Everything is on a case-by-case basis. So far we've worked on integrated eCommernce facilities and have undertaken mobile optimisation projects, porting websites to be viewable on iPhone, iPad and Android devices. It’s something I can see us doing a lot more of in the future.”
For brands looking to make to make a change, Tweaky offers an affordable option.
