A recent white paper from Facebook, Ericsson and and Qualcomm has revealed some interesting facts into Facebook's massive photo library
250 billion
Facebook currently hosts 250 billion photos, and the figure is increasing by a tidy 350 million per day.
Broken down further, this translates to 14.58 million photos every hour, 243,000 per minute and 4,000 per second.
As a point of reference Flickr has 8 billion photos and sees 3.5 million photos added every day.

Photos are one of the most popular forms on content on Facebook. The average Facebook user uploads 217 photos.
Back in 2011 Facebook had a mere 100 billion photos. Since then the platform has introduced new features such as the ability to upload multiple photos in a single post.
This focus translates to brands too: Facebook posts with photos are twice as likely to generate Likes than text-only posts.
Content
The white paper also revealed some other tidbits into Facebook's massive data banks.
Facebook users share 4.75 billion item of content per day, this includes posts, videos, photos, comments and updates. 4.5 billion Likes are generated every day, as are 10 billion messages.
