Online video-hosting platform service YouTube has added some nifty software to its arsenal to help users promote their videos and channels.
Program it in
YouTubes InVideo Programming, launched this week, will allow avid filmmakers promote both new and existing videos across their entire library of movies.
The InVideo service is free, however a user's YouTube channel must be in good standing to be eligable to take up the service.
InVideo will appear during a video as a clickable thumbnail and will allow viewers to easily link to other videos in the channel’s catalogue. This in turn will help grow a subscriber base for the channel as viewers are exposed to the channel’s entire catalogue.
Videos, old and new
Users can not only promote new and upcoming videos but also old videos that they think deserve a little more attention. InVideo Programming can also be used to promote the brand message and helps increase time viewers spend within the one user’s channel.
“It is designed to create a virtuous cycle of viewership, where new visitors who like what they’re watching could be enticed to watch additional videos, or be encouraged to come back for more. It’s not a bad strategy, showing people more of what they already like,” said YouTube on their blog.
Analytics are yet to come for InVideo programming, so only time will tell to the success of the upgrade.
