Facebook Pages adds new Publishing Authorisations

Pages is receiving a thorough upgrade that will not only allow new publishing controls, but also add primary country location and Page merge details all within the new Page Info tab.

The updates also make it more difficult for admins to promote a Page using fake or compromised accounts.

Two-factor authentication protocol will send prospects a notice at the top of their News Feed to begin the process which only takes a few minutes to complete.

Repercussions

While an admin awaits proper authentication, users will not be able to post on their Page.

The new authentications will show when a Page has merged with another, and can be found within the Page History settings.

Facebook is also adding a 'People Who Manage This Page' section, which notes current country locations and past merges. If the process proves to curb fake accounts we could see a similar treatment to Instagram in the days to come.
