Australia’s latest Facebook stats

As we head into winter, what better time to have a look at the latest Australian Facebook stats?

So rug up and keep reading about how the social network's navigating Down Under.

Facebooker's are musical types. AC/DC is the Australian Page with the greatest number of followers – 30.3 million at latest count.

Hugh Jackman (22m) and 5 Seconds of Summer (10.7m) make up the top three Australian Facebook superstars.

Big brands

When it comes to brands, Facebook users are more eclectic in their tastes.

Yellow Tail is the most popular brand Page, with 1.4m fans. Making up the top five are McDonald's (1.22m), Lorna Jane (1.1m), Samsung Australia (1.03m) and Coles (1m).

Sporting chance

While the nation might be divided between AFL and Rugby fans, it seems we all come together over cricket. Online, at least.

Cricket.com and the Australian Cricket team are the most popular sports Pages on Facebook, with 5.4m and 3m fans respectively. 

The Australian Open takes bronze with 1.7m fans.
