Facebook has just released an update for Pages aimed at helping merchants and retailers promote and sell more products via mobile.
Mobile first
Facebook announced the news in a blog post.
"Today we’re adding new features to Pages to make it easier for the more than 45 million active businesses on Facebook to highlight important information and reach their goals."
Shop till you drop
Business Pages on mobile are now divided into two sections: Shop and Services. The Shop tab allows users to browse and purchase products, the Services tab is where brands can showcase their offering.
There are also more prominent call-to-action buttons including "Call Now", "Send Message", and "Contact Us".
Moving forward
With over 1 billion users accessing Facebook Pages every month, the update might help direct some of that traffic to SMEs – without having to shell out for advertising.
