Facebook has released two new tools to give creators more control over 360 degree video.
Full spectrum
Facebook announced the news in a blog post.
"As more and more people immerse themselves in 360 video experiences, we want to help publishers and creators better engage their audiences and learn more about how they respond to their 360 videos."
Spin to win
The news tools are Guide and Heatmap.
Guide gives viewers a guided tour of 360 video as it plays. Facebook says this ensures viewers won't miss any key moments, and encourages "lean back" viewing.
Heatmap is an analytics tools that shows you which areas of your 360 degree video viewers are spending the most time on.
Next frontier
Since launching last September, over 250,000 360 videos have been uploaded to Facebook.
These updates will give brands more control over narrative storytelling, and info and what's resonating with viewers.
