Facebook has just rolled out a bunch of new Video Ads updates for brands and Page Admins.
Click Play
The updates, automated captions and increased reporting and buying options, were announced in a blog post.
Facebook says that 80% of users respond negatively when video ads play loudly and automatically, especially in mobile environments.
Conversely, videos with captions increased view time by 12%.
So now Facebook has a tool that allows brands to automatically add and edit captions.
Buy and try
The other update covers new metrics for video reposts.
Page Admins now have increased buying and analytics options, including the ability to see which percentage of users viewed their video with sound.
Best foot forward
Facebook says that 47% of the value of a video is achieved in the first three seconds, with up to 74% of the value delivered in the first ten.
Captions might help brands turn those views into conversions.
