We recently reported on Atlas, Facebook's new ad network. A few weeks down the track and as more information emerges, it appears Atlas might be a genuine game changer.
Pay up
Facebook bought Atlas from Microsoft in 2013 and is now relaunching the platform, which allows marketers to track their ads both on Facebook and the web.
Importantly, Atlas is now opening up Facebook's massive banks of data so marketers can buy and target ads on a range of websites and apps.
As a sweetener, Instagram will also be integrated with Atlas. (There are even rumours of Twitter jumping on board, but don't hold your breath.)
Wait and see
Atlas might just tip the balance in Facebook's battle with Google, which still remains the biggest kid on the Display and Search ad block.
If Facebook can increase the number of businesses using Atlas, it might start posing a clear and present danger to Google.
