Facebook's ambitions for the small (connected) screen continue apace – with new trials for ads on Apple TV and Roku.
TV time
Facebook will reportedly use its massive cache of data to target ads shown on channels A+E and Tubi TV.
This is essentially an extension of the role Facebook Audience Network plays for web and mobile apps.
Move and shake
While the move is a trial and limited to the US, it hints at how Facebook could expand its advertising beyond the crowded, cluttered timeline.
It also shows that Facebook's massive investment in video advertising is set to expand further afield than its traditional eco-system. Something YouTube will be keenly aware of.
