Facebook tests new App for Teens

You can’t accuse Facebook of not adapting to the changing winds of social, and society at large. One could also argue that Facebook has some say in the direction these winds blow…

Facebook is now looking to improve online safety while keeping millennials happy, with a new app called Talk aimed at teens. And their parents.

You Talking to Me?

According to The Information, Talk will allow parents to keep tabs on who their kids are in contact with, via messaging and the internet.

Users must be at least 13 years old to sign up to Talk, and they won’t require a Facebook profile to use it.

Digital footprint

It’s speculated that Talk will be related to Messenger, when it comes to features and functionality.

However to protect the privacy of users, the app will not be publicly searchable, and parents will reportedly have full control over who their children chat with.

Talk may not be a Snapchat killer, but it could appeal to parents of younger teens who want to be social, while keeping safe.
