In its continuing mission to project a squeaky clean image and distance itself from everything fake-news and Russian hacker related, Facebook is brining yet another layer of transparency tools to Ads and Pages.
Through the Looking Glass
Should they choose, users can now view which ads a Page is running across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Facebook's partner network.
To have a squiz, visit any Page and select "Info and Ads". You can then view related ad creative and copy, and flag anything that looks dodgy by clicking "Report Ad".
Page Promises
Social sleuths can also shallow dive into the workings of brand Pages, even those that don't advertise. Information includes recent name changes, and the date the Page was created.
Not a lot, but Facebook promises more Page information is on the way in the coming weeks.
Keep it clean
As part of the push, Facebook will also be labelling and archiving political ads, starting in Brazil ahead of that nation's general election in November.
The updates will give users more information about brand Pages, and hold Page admins to a higher level of accountability. Is your house in order?
