Google has added a new tool to make composing emails faster and more intuitive with a bit of an AI edge.
Predictable
The new predictive add-on can generate suggested phrase endings that the user can accept or reject, thanks to Smart Compose.
Smart Compose analyses common speech patterns using Google’s AI and offering auto-filled sentences for phrasing that repeats the most.
In addition, Smart Compose also allows senders to attach an embedded option of stock replies such as “yes,” “no,” and “maybe.”
Looking back to go forward
The new Gmail accessories will be rolled out over the coming weeks and though small changes, they could mean quite a bit.
Emails are essentially catching up to mobile standards, such as predictive texts and auto evites, which marks a clear reversal in where innovations are being driven.
Smart Compose will not be initially available to G Suite users while consumers with a Gmail account can access the feature in their settings menu. Give it a whirl.
