While Siri and Alexa have yet to re-invent the wheel, the dream of tech giants to create the perfect assistant has not dimmed.
The latest update sees Google Assistant getting a slew of fancy new updates.
Get up ‘n’ Go
Google Assistant already works with Google Home, Android, and Android Wear.
Now Assistant has learned some new tricks, including the ability to schedule calendar appointments and create reminders.
Working via Google Home, you can now make hands-free calls using Assistant, which will connect to your mobile or landline. You can initiate a call either through voice, or typing from your phone.
Square eyes
Assistant is embracing more entertainment options. You can already stream Netflix via Assistant, while HBO, NOW, and CBS will soon be added.
Google is planning to roll out Spotify and SoundCloud compatibility in the coming months.
Assistant is available on over 100 million devices, and can now be accessed on iPhone. Plus some more good news for Google geeks: Google Home is launching in Australia later this year.
