Google has taken the next step in integrating its various products together by allowing Google+ users to link their profile to their YouTube account.
Merging lives
Instead of having separate usernames for both Google+ and YouTube, Google is now giving users the option to merge the two profiles together. If the user chooses to merge the profiles, their Google+ profile will replace their channel profile, increasing the possibility for engagement and interaction across the channels.
Get engaged
Google believes that by unifying your YouTube identity with Google+, it will be easier for your audience to find and connect with you on YouTube, Google, and across the web, helping you build your brand across Google’s entire product.
As an opt-in service users need to choose to integrate both platforms and can select to keep their current YouTube name if preferred.
Page plans
Users who want to merge their YouTube name, including company accounts, with their Google+ page will be able to do so in the coming weeks.
