If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck….it’s a Google Ad?
An update from Google sees new ad units that look suspiciously like the pins used in Google Maps.
Pin the tail on the product
Google announced the launch of Local Search ads in a blog post.
“If you run a local business, advertising on Google Maps is a powerful way to attract nearby customers.
“Ads on Google Maps make it easy for people to contact, find, and make their way to your business location.”
Roadmap to profit?
Local Search ads will promote businesses on Google.com and Google Maps.
For example, if you’re out of town and looking for an Italian restaurant, the Local Search ad will appear as a purple icon, similar to the red pins that denote places of interest.
The ad includes Call and Directions buttons, and can also feature special offers.
All roads lead to Google
The ads are compatible on desktop and mobile, and work as an extension of Google AdWords.
