Proving once more what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, Facebook is bringing a GIF keyboard to Instagram.
There’s a meme for that
Some users may remember when Facebook added GIFs to their interface a year or so back, now Instagram is also adding a Giphy-powered keyboard for direct messaging.
In a recent blog post, Instagram announced that tapping the new GIF button within Instagram Direct will launch an archive of trending GIFs brought to you by Giphy.
The keyboard, much like Facebook’s, allows users to search GIFs by phrase or keyword, with a “random” button for a bit of spontaneous fun.
Meme, myself, and I
The quick pithy videos add a bit of pop-culture context to a conversation and has been a millennial standard for some time, which makes Instagram’s addition no surprise.
The new feature is available to all Android and iOS users which means everyone can get to meta-referencing their favourite shows right now. Go team meme!
