LinkedIn launches Your Commute

LinkedIn is launching a travel time calculator for time-conscious job seekers.

Going the distance

According to LinkedIn, 85% of US employees would be willing to take a pay cut if it meant cutting down their commute, which is why the new distance calculator is being called Your Commute.

Among salary insights, skills, experience matching, role referrals, company and team info, it's all about giving as a much information so users can make an informed decision.

When viewing a job listing, users will now find a “See Your Commute” module consisting of walking, driving, and public transit time, similar to Google Maps.

Auto-fill easy

You can save your location information directly to your mobile, making it even speedier to figure out travel times.

You can also tweak your commute preferences in the Career Interests dashboard, meaning LinkedIn provides you with even more relevant job recommendations.

What do you think about the travel calculator? Have you been waiting for just such a feature? Let us know in the comments.
