Facebookhas chosen Australia as the first market to test its new(ish) Messenger feature: Rooms.
Talk to me
Rooms is essentially a public chat feature. It's set up in a bulletin-board style and allows you to chat with strangers in real time.
Rooms is reportedly being tested as a way users can explore topics they're interested in, but that their Facebook friends may not be.
Rebirth
Rooms actually first popped up as a standalone up last year, but quickly faded from view.
While a simlar feature is available on Groups, Messenger Rooms could potentially cast a wider net – and bring different sets of users together.
At the moment Rooms is being trialled with Google Android phones in Australia and Canada.
