A quick look around any public space and you’re guaranteed to see people interacting more with their mobile device than each other. It’s plain that we just can’t get enough of mobile, especially here in Australia.
Which is very good news for marketers. So today we’re sharing the latest mobile marketing stats.
Mobile movers
The average user now spends a mammoth two hours and 51 minutes every day on their mobile device.
The only other device that comes close is TV, which we spend 4 hours and 21 minutes a day viewing.
But the gap is closing.
Facebook future
In the second quarter of 2014 well over half (62%) of Facebook’s revenue came from mobile advertising.
In the US over US$180 billion will be spent on mobile advertising this year, and by 2017 mobile expenditure is expected to overtake TV.
Marketing makeover
By 2015 it’s expected mobile advertising will account for 14% of the total ad spend in the US, while newspapers and radio both decline.
