That places Facebook ahead of network heavyweights CNN (44%) and Fox News (39%).

The study also revealed Facebook is far ahead of YouTube (14%) and Twitter (9%) as a source of political news.
It's important to note that 77% of respondents noted they were Facebook users, compared to 63% for YouTube and 22% on Twitter.
Pew notes that many users don't necessarily search for political news on Facebook, however they are exposed to this content on their News Feed.
