Number Crunch: LinkedIn Q3

Not as flashy as a Facebook or Snapchat, LinkedIn quietly continues to plug away, innovate and improve.

And while LinkedIn may never see the engagement figures of its larger rivals, it does provide a unique place for professionals to play, network and access all sorts of handy features.

Here's how it looks at LinkedIn today.

Big business

LinkedIn currently has over 332 million users worldwide, of which less than one third (107 million) are based in the US.

Over 6 million Australians are LinkedIn members.

Global player

LinkedIn is one of the most global networks, operating in 200 countries and available in 20 languages.

In Q3 2014 LinkedIn saw 28 billion member page views.

Professional power

Over 40% of LinkedIn users visit the platform daily, and over a typical month these users spend 17 minutes linking in.

The average CEO has 930 connections.

Endorsements

Endorsements, where users recommend skill-sets of their followers, is one of LinkedIn's most popular features.

At last count there were over 1 billion Endorsements lodged.

Photo finish

Looking to get more traction on LinkedIn? Try adding a profile pic.

LinkedIn accounts featuring a profile photo net 11 times more views than those without.

And in case you were wondering, the most common adjective used on LinkedIn profiles is “responsible”.
